As promised, I’ve been MIA since last year. But, as countless B-movie villains have cackled through the years, “I’m baaaack!” There’s a fresh blanket of snow here in Knoxville, Tennessee, and I feel inspired! I’m installing a new WordPress theme, working on my portfolio and throwing my third installation of the Mermaid Underground series into the digital trash bin. Don’t worry, I’ll rewrite it. Again. We’ll talk more about that later.
So, what have I been up to over the past year or so? Here’s a highlights list:
1. My husband and I completely tore out the insides of our home. Then we completely rebuilt it (though that part’s not totally done, yet.) It’s been the kind of year that really put the old “for better or worse” part of our promise to the test. Give me a virtual high-five if you know what I’m talking about!
2. I wrote lots of corporate things for a corporation that paid me to do it. I learned a lot from this job, made some very good friends and then left while the getting was good.
3. I rewrote a draft of my Appalachian fantasy book. Which I’m rewriting again. Oi.

4. I have a new fun/professional endeavor to tell you all about: Yonder Backyard Adventures. If you clicked the link, you’ll have seen that it’s a YouTube channel! We’re working on the website, which will have blogs and photographs, and we have an Instagram link up, too.
My recap list of 2018 pretty much tells you what 2019 has in store for me and for you, faithful readers! Stay tuned to find out about my misadventures in writing and rewriting (apparently the skill the writing gods are most keen for me to hone), house renovations, photography and film, and the Grand Canyon! (More on that, later.)
Happy New Year! May 2019 bring only the most interesting of times. Yes, I know, that’s traditionally a curse. But it’s a good one, isn’t it?
